Treat Yourself To The Best Body Lotions For Silky Skin

By Jodi Truglio — August 02, 2017

Most of us rarely leave the house without applying some kind of moisturizer and with so many options on the market that are packed with ingredients it’s hard to decipher which one is designed to meet your needs. When it comes to selecting a body lotion think of it like a second skin. You want it to be creamy and feel velvety on your skin not greasy, meaning it should absorb not sit on top. Avoid any products with ingredients that you can’t pronounce or have to repeatedly look up. You want your lotion to ideally contain sustainably harvested ingredients.

Below is a review of some of our favorite lotions.

Rescue & Renew Detox Body Lotion

This is probably one of the best lotions I’ve used in quite sometime with the most honest results. Rescue & Renew Detox Body Lotion is the answer to tired looking skin because of its creamy light weight consistency is super moisturizing. The lotion contains organic ingredients such as shea butter and detoxing dandelion. Although you can use the it everyday to see some amazing results. I recommend using it during the seasons your skin is at its driest.

look of dull, lackluster skin by enhancing the

dry skin Vitamin B5, a humectant

Soapy Bliss

Watermelon White Rose Body Butter 8 oz.

Made with organic butters, this body butter is a keeper that is perfect for summer with its yummy watermelon rose fragrance that puts you in a good mood all day. The body butter is whipped which gives it an airy consistency that goes on light and keeps skin hydrated without feeling greasy when applied modestly.

Key ingredients: watermelon seed oil, coconut oil and mango butter

Derma E

Vitamin E Intensive Therapy Body Lotion, Fragrance-Free

I refer to this lotion as old faithful because I can always count on it to be there for me whenever I become super sensitive due to skin allergies or to a fragrance when I have sinus infection/sinus migraine. The lotion is a light moisturizer that is perfect for daily use. I find during the summer I need to wear a heavier lotion due to the dry heat where I live, but last summer while I was in Scotland the lotion worked very well. I’m assuming because it was more humid there. It also helped reduce the appearance of minor skin pigmentation on my shoulders.

Key Features

Lightweight for daily use,
Non-greasy formula absorbs
100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, GMO-free, phthalate-free, petrolatum-free, lanolin-free.

Trader Joe’s

Pumpkin Body Butter(Seasonal)

This is one of my seasonal favorites that I always stock up on because it contains high quality ingredients similar to what you would typically find in a more expensive body butter, but without the cost. The lotion is thick and similar to a moose in consistency and smells of yummy Pumpkin which is perfect for Autumn. Out of the various body butters that Trader Joe’s has during various seasons this is the one that contains the most beneficial ingredients for anyone with dry or sensitive skin.
