There is just something about chocolate that makes it the feel good candy that has everyone smiling. Sure, it has amazing health benefits when consumed, but chocolate is more about creating memories and I’m sure just about everyone can remember the first time the bit into their favorite candy bar.
Go Max Go Foods
Go Max Go Foods has created and perfected a vegan version of everyones favorite classic candy bars, which quickly brings back nostalgic feeling.
Go Max Go Foods is a family owned company that is named after their beloved dog, The Company prides itself on not containing dairy, eggs, hydrogenated oils, trans fats, artificial ingredients, or cholesterol. This is definitely the candy bar that you will want to give your kids as a special treat or anyone in the family who has a sweat tooth.
My only issue is that ever since it was discontinued at my local Whole Foods it is impossible to find a store that carries Go Max Go locally.
Unreal Dark Chocolate Peanut Gems
Let’s be real for a second, I haven’t had anything remotely similar to M&M’s since I went vegan many years ago, part of the reason is simply not being aware that a vegan alternative existed. You can image how pleased I felt when I discovered Unreal Dark Chocolate Peanut Gems completely by accident while at my local Whole Foods.
What I enjoy about the Vegan Dark Chocolate Peanut Gems, is that it is portable and comes in single serving packets. I can fit the chocolate in a small bag for a snack when I’m on the go or craving something sweet. I was also impressed with how yummy the peanut gems are and how straight forward the ingredients are. This is also a very kid friendly treat when given in moderation. All of Unreal’s products are made with non-GMO verified ingredients and are naturally colored with vegetable extracts.
Four Sigmatic Mushroom Chocolate- Limited Addition
Four Sigmatic’s Mushroom Chocolate is by far one of my favorites. I was expecting not to enjoy this chocolate bar as much as I did, since one of the ingredients is Shiitake Mushrooms, which I dislike the taste of and avoid eating foods that contain it. However, I was drawn to trying this chocolate due to its high percentage of dark chocolate combined with beneficial mushrooms such as Chaga, Reishi, Cordyceps, Lion’s Mane just to name a few. I am probably one of the few people that it takes about a month to finish a chocolate bar, so I like that I can break the bar into small squares and have it during the day whenever I need an energy boost.
Note: Four Sigmatic Mushroom Chocolate is currently out of stock on their website. It tends to come back in stock various times of the year and is definitely worth keeping an eye out for or you can sign up on their website to be notified when it is available for purchase.
Disclaimer: In the interest of full disclosure I was diagnosed by my allergist with a chocolate allergy after he performed a skin prick test. I am able to eat Chocolate in moderation, meaning once every few months.
