In celebration of International Women’s Month I wanted to share with you two companies that are owned by women and are doing their best to make our days a little brighter during this moment in time.
Founded by Lauren and Randy, Farmstead Apothecary is was created by this husband and wife duo who wanted their products to reflect their love for nature and animals. As a result they created a skincare line with uncomplicated ingredients that entices the senses.
In honor of International Women’s Month, Farmstead Apothecary is selling their new Fig Bundle for 10 percent off on Amazon. The bundle includes Fig & Honey Anti-Aging Face Cream (vegan), Fig & Citrus Foaming Face Wash (vegan) and Fig & Honey Lip Balm (contains bees wax). The refreshing smelling set is the perfect morning pick-me-up for all skin types including those with sensitive and blemished prone skin. This lovely skincare bundle contains beneficial ingredients such as jojoba oil which is know to balance oil production and reduce redness. My personal favorite product in the Fig Bundle is their Fig & Citrus Foaming face wash. I love the smell of citrus to start my morning. I find a little of this cleanser goes a long way, yet this delicate foam is powerful enough to remove dirt and oil leaving my skin soft and silky.
Founded by Jane Iredale to make woman feel better about themselves this company embraces the use of using natural ingredients in every product they create.
I have always been a fan of Jane Iredale’s make-up because of the company’s complete transparency. As a vegan, like many of us, I find it tedious looking through the ingredients of a skincare product, but I have excepted it is just something that I have to do. What I like about Jane Iredale’s products is that on the website there is no guess work, everything is listed whether it is vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free which is a really big time saver.
Recently, the company came out with its new foundation called Beyond Matte™ which is a vegan Liquid Foundation that is a 3-1 foundation that is weightless with buildable coverage.
For me personally, I struggled at first to find a shade that matched my skin tone, but discovered that if I use a foundation brush to apply the make-up it blends in better and actually ended up looking really nice. The issue I had was not with the foundation, but rather with what I had chosen to use to apply it. What I like about this product is that it saves you time and money, since it is a primer, concealer and foundation all in one. By the time I finished applying it my skin looked flawless.
