Looking for a good book or two to put you in a patriotic kind of mood that cancels out all of the noise and the struggles of today, reminding us of what our founding fathers meant by the American Spirt. Below are two books we recommend checking out.

Great American Humor is a collection of a thousand quotes and saying by celebrities, American writers, actors, comedians and politicians, that share their sense of humor that is just as witty as it is funny. This is a great book to lift your spirit on a rainy day.
The book is divided into the following sections:

* Laughter and the American Lexicon
* We Hold These Laughs to be Self-Evident
* The Laws of Laughter
* With Laughs and Wit for All
The Handbook for Americans : The essential Reference For Citizens Of The United States Of America
Written By Sean Smith And Edited by Anna Krusinski and June Eding
In my personal opinion everyone should own a copy of The Handbook for Americans which is a guide to the United States. With everything going on in the world today it is sometimes easy to forget about the traditions along with the freedoms and responsibility this country was founded on.
The book does a nice job featuring foundational documents of our democracy such as The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and The Bill of Rights. The “Handbook for Americans” also provides the reader with important useful information about how our government works and the balance of powers set forth by our founding fathers.
Some of my favorite sections of the book are key moments in history, such as the Woman’s March and the explanation of why we celebrate certain holidays such as the 4th of July.
It is also a great resource for children.
