I know this might sound unusual to most dog owners, but since adopting my dog last year I have had the most difficult time finding my Red Heeler mix a durable toy that will last longer than a day or two. To put in perspective, lets just put it this way my dog finished a thick antler in two days and if given the choice would have finished it the same night had I not taken it away.
Yes, you guessed it, I have been blessed with a very intelligent dog that has the jaw strength of a pit bull and curiosity of a child that likes to take things apart to see how they work and then leaves the pieces of the toy on the floor to show her accomplishment.
Below is a list of toys that will satisfy a heavy chewer.
While my dog chewed through their Wox Toy and Hurley Dog Bone in an hour like it was nothing, I highly recommend their Zogoflex Boz Dog Ball which is made in the USA of recyclable material, floatable, latex-free, BPA and phthalate-free, FDA compliant, non-toxic and dishwasher safe. The ball is super easy to clean and are perfect for play outdoors. My dog loves to chew on the ball and I love that her sharp canines haven’t punctured it.
I can always count on Go Dog to make durable toys that will last several chewing sessions. My dog tends to prefer softer toys compared to hard ones, so I really appreciate that the toy is lined with Go Dog’s special Chew Guard, which is a durable tough liner that is meant to hold up to long play sessions. One of her favorite toys as well as mine is Mr. Frog which is a brightly colored cheery frog.
Please note that the above toys mentioned are not indestructible, with that being said never leave anything to chance, always supervise your dog while they play. To see some of the damage my dog has inflicted on her toys check out our Instagram page @globallookingglass
