Oxygenetix Breathable Foundation Review

By Jodi Truglio — January 20, 2017

If you have ever struggled finding the perfect vegan foundation that looks good and makes you feel great, Oxygenetix Breathable Foundation is sure to become one of your favorite must have cosmetics.

Why I love this foundation and why I was so apprehensive about giving it a try? As a beauty writer I have been blessed with the opportunity to try many new vegan beauty products. However, foundation was the one thing I have always avoided. I have really sensitive skin and even at 35-years-old I still go through periods when my skin breaks out due to a food allergy, hormonal or something environmental which usually results in bumps under my skin and red marks that heal and become hyperpigmentation.

I had settled on the foundation I was using since the color match my skin well and it didn’t cause horrible acne all over my face. I never really liked or dislike it, I just accepted the good with the bad. The bad being that the foundation that I was using never quite covered the acne when I was having a breakout and although my skin is on the dry side this particular foundation I was using would usually make it feel oily and would never seem to last all day without touch ups.

The reason why I decided to try Oxygenetix Breathable Foundation is honestly my curiosity got the best of me and the company is based out of Beverly Hills and makes all its products in the United States which is a big incentive for me.

Oxygenetix is a breathable foundation that was designed by doctors to help minimize or eliminate post-procedure scars after cosmetic surgery. The foundation also improves a wide variety of skin problems such as surface injuries and wounds, rashes, cracked or dry skin, acne scars and rosacea.

Benefits of Oxygenetix Breathable Foundation:
• Non-Comedogenic (won’t clog pores)
• Oil-Free
• Fragrance -Free
• Organically certified ingredients
• Contains SPF 25 (for UVA/UVB sun protection)
• Not drying – allows retention of natural fluids – even following  aggressive resurfacing
• Hypoallergenic (less allergic reactions than with other cosmetics)
• Cruelty-free and Vegan

Out of the 14 foundation shades to select from the color picked was Opal which is considered a yellow tone. At first I thought it would look too pink on my skin, but to my surprise it really blended well making it a perfect match. Since I have such sensitive skin I purchased Ecotools Perfecting Blender Duo to apply the foundation with.

I find that using a makeup sponge to apply liquid foundation works much better compared to a brush. With Oxygenetix you will notice that you only need to use no more than about a pea size. The foundation feels light and airy and looks velvety on the skin.

When I first started using Oxygenetix I had a red pimple on my face. I noticed that it healed a lot faster without any pigmentation which was a first for me. It also did a good job with concealing it. Since I started using the foundation I haven’t had any sensitivity issues or problems with the color transferring to my clothing or wearing off throughout the day. I have actually started getting compliments about how clear and healthy my skin looks.

When it comes to our skin I am a firm believer of maintaining a healthy, clean plant-based diet which is the key to great skin, by using products like Oxygenetix Breathable Foundation can make a world a difference.
