Last February, I had the pleasure of meeting a representative from Fritzi aus Preussen at the Magic Convention in Las Vegas who told me they also had a vegan bag company. I was a little hesitant to do the review because I’ve had such lousy luck with my vegan purses not holding up. The vegan leather bags I have owned either crack, crumble or start to peel, I assume it is because of the extreme heat in Las Vegas.
Founded in early 2008, Fritzi aus Preussen is an affordable luxury purse line from Berlin that is committed to manufacturing accessories that are 100 percent leather-free which is sourced from recycled material. According to the company the inspiration for the unusual brand name came from two sources: “it references the nickname of creative mind and designer Franziska “Fritzi” Adler while at the same time paying tribute to King Frederick the Great, dubbed Der Alte Fritz Von Preussen (Old Fritz of Prussia) by his subjects.”
When I received my FRITZI AUS PREUSSEN Ronja clutch in light blue, I was more than just a little impressed, I couldn’t believe how much it felt like real soft buttery suede. I had to smell it just to make sure it wasn’t real. The clutch is lined with red material that feels similar to velvet. The hardware is strong and good quality. What else can I say, I love this purse for so many reasons, although I’m not a fan of the light blue color, I love how versatile it is and can be worn as a the clutch at night and used as a roomy cross body bag during the day.
I had the unfortunate pleasure of it suddenly down pouring the first time I used it as a cross body purse. The water just beaded up and dried pretty fast without staining. Although I wish I could afford to purchase the purse in another color so it goes better with what I am wearing, I will definitely be taking it with me when I relocate to Scotland in September.
My best advice is if you’re looking for a trendy, versatile clutch for a great price than buy this clutch, you won’t be sorry.
