Out of Print Clothing

Out of Print Clothing  is dedicated to celebrating their favorite stories while promoting literacy in underserved communities. Each product sold donates a book to a community in need through their charity partner, Books For Africa. It also supports the authors, publishers and artists.

I love classical books and have a collection that seems to be growing and now takes over a bookshelf. I was excited to find Out of Print because the idea of purchasing a shirt that looks like one of my favorite books seems like a fun idea and what really appealed to me is that each purchase goes to provide a book for the charity Books For Africa.

I have to admit I felt a bit nostalgic when I received my Tree Grows In Brooklyn shirt. Each shirt is the iconic cover of a classic book and the tag is designed to look like an old library card. Did I mention it also made me feel old because I can actually remember when library cards were used at the elementary school that I attended in upstate New York.

The shirt is a fitted Cotton/poly v-neck tee that is distressed and comfortable. I received many compliments on this shirt and it is a great conversation starter. I highly recommend purchasing this shirt as a gift for yourself or someone who loves classical books.

Vegan Police

imageVegan Police started printing vegan shirts around 2011and combines their two passions in life. Fighting for the animals, and art. Vegan Police had a humble beginning first starting on etsy and with the success of the etsy shop moved everything over to a new website!

All of the items are printed in their shop screen printed, by hand in their studio in Canada. They only print on fair labor made clothing and use eco-friendly water-based inks.

“It is my belief that humans are natural herbivores and although we are able to consume the bodies and milk of animals, it is by all means not the optimal way for us to live . My goal is to help get the message out there”

I love making purchases on etsy because it helps support smaller businesses from all over the world. I was really excited to discover Vegan Police and who doesn’t love a shirt with a bunny on it? This is one of my favorite vegan shirts, it is made very well and is a super comfortable bamboo blend that I find to be more durable than some of the bamboo shirts I’ve owned in the past. The shirt looks very flattering on and is a great conversation starter about Veganism. I get so many compliments every time I wear it.

Nudy Patooty

imageNudy Patooty was founded by Michelle Shemilt who was inspired to
create a line of undershirts for women who weren’t wearing their favorite clothes because of embarrassing perspiration stains.

With a growing need for a practical women’s base layer that is body slimming, Nudy Patooty developed undershirts for women.

“Our promise is to deliver high quality, comfortable undergarments that inspire you to live a better life by feeling confident in your clothes every day. We use premium fabrics and develop functional designs to ensure your base layer feels better than wearing nothing.”
Their lightweight undershirts for women are body slimming and protect your clothes from everyday damages by creating a layer between you and your favorite outfits. The Micro-gaps in bamboo fabric aid in ventilation by regulating body temperature.

I was excited to try this because, like many people enjoy wearing light colored shirts and have had them stained by deodorant. If I can find something that is Eco-Friendly and saves my clothing I’m all for it.

I received an extra small in the mall and wouldn’t quite call it an extra small because it was a little big. The nude is the perfect shade to hide under clothing, but to be honest, I was a bit put off at the idea of trying it because you can see where they added the special fabric to prevent underarm staining which kind of reminds me of a pad for your underarms. To my surprise it felt super comfortable and was great for protecting my clothing, but sadly after three washes in cold water on the hand wash cycle, the shirt began to get linty, and the label printed and the inside washed off. I was really hoping to have this shirt for awhile.
